September's projects include:
planting native plants in the courtyard. We have a selection of native plants that tolerate shade and thrive in wet environments to beautify the area by the pond.
The plants are from Next Door Nursery and Green Star Wetlands, and are provided to Lantrip through our partnership with Urban Harvest Permaculture.
planting vines to improve the pre-K dismissal area.
weeding and seeding the pocket prairie.
Nature journaling introduction with a group journaling exercise. There is also a potential berry show and tell :).
If you have a journal or notebook you would like to do your nature journaling in, please bring it! And any other art supplies you would like to use. We will also have some notebooks and art supplies on hand.
A day to care for the land together with Lantrip's community. Everyone welcome! Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
For this year's Sparkle Days, there will be time for tending in the garden spaces, and time for learning through workshops and demonstrations.
Sparkle Days are come and go as you please! Please dress for time in the garden -- long pants and closed-toed shoes. Event will happen in light rain or shine. If thunderstorm / flooding / safety is a concern, we will reschedule or cancel.
Feel free to share your Sparkle Day nature observation photos here.
Park in the school parking lot. Entry to the parking lot is on Telephone Rd here. The entrance to the garden is through this gate here.
